A typical scenario:

A home is for sale at $250,000
The home isn't selling and there is a price reduction of $10,000. ($240,000)
The home sells for $5000 less at $235,000
Let's assume a 6% commission/realtor fee.
The home hasn't been professionally staged.

CALCULATION/LOSSES:
$250,000 X 6% = $15,000  $250,000-$15,000 = $235,000 (expected net profit)
$235,000 X 6%  =$14,100  $235,000-$14,100 = $220,900 (final net profit)
